You might not recognise his name or his face, but millions have seen his art. Todd Cherniawsky earned his BFA in Art and Design in 1993 after an honours diploma in Architecture at NAIT. He then went on to earn an MFA in Production Design at the American Film Institute, all the while amassing film production credits from the ground up. When the time came, he was poised for the role of production and set designer on some of Hollywood’s biggest films.
To date, Cherniawsky’s young career boasts Set Design, Digital Modeling and Illustration credits on such feature films as Sphere
(1998), Inspector Gadget
(1999), Planet of the Apes
(2003), The Hulk
(2003), The Polar Expres
s (2004), The Chronicles of Riddick
(2004), and Lemony Snicket: An Unfortunate Series of Events
(2004), to name some of the most recognisable titles.
As Production Designer, Cherniawsky’s name appears on Canadian-made cult-horror hits Ginger Snaps
, Ginger Snaps 2: Unleashed
, and Ginger Snaps Back: Prequel
, among a slew of other feature-length and short films, television, and advertising productions.
Most recently, Cherniawsky's work in art direction, set design, and digital model-making has been featured in War of the Worlds
